A Clockwork Orange is a dystopian film directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the novel by Anthony Burgess. Set in a near-future society characterized by extreme youth violence and social decay, the story follows Alex DeLarge, a delinquent with a penchant for "ultraviolence" and classical music. Alongside his gang, Alex engages in a series of criminal activities until he is arrested and subjected to an experimental rehabilitation technique known as the Ludovico Technique. This controversial treatment conditions him to associate feelings of nausea with violent thoughts, effectively stripping him of his free will. As Alex struggles to reintegrate into society, he faces the consequences of his past actions and the moral implications of a society that prioritizes control over individuality. The film explores themes of free will, the nature of evil, and the potential dangers of state intervention in personal choices.
