Set in the early 20th century, "Days of Heaven" follows the story of Bill (Richard Gere), a laborer who, after accidentally causing the death of his boss, flees with his girlfriend Abby (Brooke Adams) and his younger sister Linda (Linda Manz) to the Texas Panhandle. Seeking a new life, they find work on a wheat farm owned by a wealthy, but ailing farmer (Sam Shepard). To secure their future, Bill convinces Abby to marry the farmer, hoping to inherit his fortune when he dies. As the seasons change and the wheat ripens, a love triangle develops, leading to tension and betrayal. The film beautifully captures the harsh yet stunning landscapes of rural America, exploring themes of love, ambition, and the pursuit of happiness against a backdrop of inevitable tragedy.
