About the event
"The Hedgehog" is a poignant French film directed by Mona Achache, based on the novel "The Elegance of the Hedgehog" by Muriel Barbery. Set in a Parisian apartment building, the story revolves around two main characters: Renée Michel, a reclusive and intelligent concierge, and Paloma Josse, a precocious twelve-year-old girl who plans to end her life on her thirteenth birthday.
Renée, who hides her intellectual prowess behind a facade of a simple caretaker, finds solace in her love for literature and philosophy. Meanwhile, Paloma, disillusioned by the superficiality of her wealthy family and the world around her, documents her observations in a journal, yearning for something more meaningful in life.
Their lives intertwine when a new tenant, Mr. Ozu, a kind and insightful Japanese man, moves into the building. He sees beyond Renée's exterior and forms a friendship with both her and Paloma, prompting them to confront their loneliness and…
